Ask people on the island about travel and you will get stories before you get opinions: the boat that left early, the ferry that never came, the okada rider who knew a shortcut and the passenger who wished he had not.
Moving people and goods is the whole economy in miniature. A trader who cannot trust the trip prices in the risk. A student who cannot rely on the boat plans around the delay. A patient who cannot get across in time pays the highest price of all.
Some of this needs engineers and governments. Some of it is ours: life jackets on every boat, helmets on every ride, and someone who knows when you left and when you should arrive.
A safe journey is a shared habit. Reliable information about delays and schedules would make a bigger difference than most people expect.
